About The Position

The primary function of the Tax Accountant I is the preparation of sales-and-use tax returns, property tax returns, and state and local income tax returns under supervision of a Senior Tax Associate/Tax Manager, and the Tax Department's cash disbursements on a timely basis. This position works a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax or related discipline
• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Well-versed in ERP systems required (Oracle 12 preferred, Corptax, etc.)
• Advanced level proficiency in mathematical skills
• Advanced level reasoning skills/abilities
• Strong attention to detail with good organizational and inter-personal skills
• Excellent professional written and verbal communication
• Ability to analyze data and information and develop workable, compliant and creative solutions
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and highly demanding environment
• Advanced level proficiency in English; French and/or Spanish preferred
• Advanced level skills in Excel
• Intermediate user proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Maintains tax records and prepares tax payments
• Estimates, prepares, and tracks monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns
• Organizes and updates the company’s tax database
• Shares financial data with the Finance department
• Identifies tax savings and suggests ways to increase profits
• Prepare materials for internal and external auditors
• Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
