About The Position

This position is to provide live figure drawing models for students enrolled in various courses within the Fine & Performing Arts Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Pose for fine arts studio classes. Provide a full range of traditional life drawing poses, from gestures to sustained poses, as required by tradition and the instructor. Demonstrate the flexibility and animation of human form. Provide traditional gestures and poses as well as anatomical studies as may be requested. The model poses without clothing in figure drawing. Additional Responsibilities Acceptance of responsibilities for promoting the welfare and best interests of students at all times. Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution.

Requirements

• Education – High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience – One year of related experience
• Must not be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at TAMIU.
• Knowledge of : Live modeling positions and poses, Traditional gestures, flexibility and animation of the human form.
• Ability to: Be physically able to provide a full range of body gestures and poses, from quick gestures to long, sustained poses.
• Be able to hold poses for the sustained drawings.
• Successfully work in and promote a multicultural work and education environment.
• Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Licensing / Professional Certification – None.
• Physical Requirements – None.
• Position requires on campus face to face interactions.
• Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
• Evening and weekend work may be required.
• Position is temporary subject to funding and/or need.
• Promptly complete all required training.
