About The Position

The Task Force General Manager at MHG Hotels is responsible for leading hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and managing staff effectively. This role requires a high level of integrity and the ability to drive results while maintaining compliance with company policies and service standards. The General Manager will work closely with department heads and upper management to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction, while also developing strategic goals for performance improvement.

Requirements

  • Hotel management experience required.
  • Hospitality degree preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during shifts.
  • Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats.
  • Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for manipulating objects of varying size and weight.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 25 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire team members to provide exceptional guest experiences.
  • Manage all aspects of hotel operations and day-to-day staff management.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Handle guest complaints and oversee the service recovery process.
  • Manage budget and ensure revenue and guest satisfaction goals are met.
  • Develop short and long-term strategic goals for performance improvement.
  • Understand P&L statements and react with impactful strategies.
  • Meet all report deadlines daily, weekly, and at month end.
  • Work closely with the VP of Revenue Management and VP of Sales to maximize room yield and hotel revenue.
  • Oversee and manage all departments and work closely with department heads daily.
  • Ensure occupational health, fire, and life safety compliance.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence others.
  • Advocate sound financial/business decisions to achieve goals and maximize revenue.
  • Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
  • Strive to improve service performance and communicate clear processes throughout departments.
  • Identify developmental needs of others and provide coaching and mentoring.
