About The Position
As a Target Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests, team members, and brand. This position is part of the Assets Protection (AP) team, which is dedicated to mitigating risks associated with theft and fraud, thereby protecting profitable sales and ensuring that products are available for our guests. Your responsibilities will include using intelligence-led tactics to maintain a secure environment, responding to crisis situations, and managing safety protocols throughout the store. You will also be involved in recovering stolen merchandise and documenting incidents accurately using industry-standard case management systems. In this role, you will engage with guests and team members at the front of the store, fostering a welcoming atmosphere while leading a culture of physical security. You will assess and maintain safety standards, respond to security incidents, and utilize Target's video surveillance system effectively. Your ability to model safe working practices and maintain a clean store will contribute to a positive shopping experience for our guests. Additionally, you will be expected to demonstrate ethical conduct and compliance with all safety policies and best practices. The position requires flexibility, as no two days will be the same. You will be busy throughout your shifts, especially on weekends, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and inspired. Target provides comprehensive training to equip you with the necessary skills to excel as a Security Specialist, but certain foundational skills are essential from the start.
