About the position

PIZZA & BEER, is the latest venture from Eastern Market Brewing Co. Join Elephant & Co. and become part of our growth story, bringing Detroit-style pizza and market fresh beer to our community. New location recently opened in Midtown Detroit! As the Elephant & Co. Taproom Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the taproom, lead staff, and work closely with the Experience Manager to execute activations and fine-tune daily operations to help increase revenue and heighten the customer experience. This position is responsible for training the Experience department staff ensuring they remain well versed in Brand storytelling, establishing and executing opening and closing procedures, and ensuring guest satisfaction. A major goal of this position is to create meaningful moments for both our guests and staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily taproom operation
  • Ensure the taproom teams are properly staffed at all times
  • Establish and continually improve opening and closing policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented properly
  • Effectively communicate to staff about company initiatives or events
  • Create, and continually improve upon opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure superior customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Assist with the development and continuous improvement of Customer Service training for the Experience staff
  • Work with the Experience Manager to execute plans to increase revenue and heighten customer experience
  • Support the Experience Manager to help respond to customer inquiries
  • Execute events that take place at the establishment
  • Providing a welcoming and well-informed experience with new hires
  • Consistently communicate with Experience staff to ensure they are aware of all policies, procedures, and taproom expectations
  • Continually gather feedback from staff and managers on the onboarding process and what they need to be effective and fulfilled employees and work that into the training
  • Provide regular updates to Experience Manager to ensure any taproom issues or needs are properly addressed

Requirements

  • Leadership experience within the food and beverage industry
  • Well-versed knowledge of all of our products including: Menu options, Beer served on draft and retail
  • Willing and able to work closing shifts weekends and holidays
  • Passion and dedication to developing our brand
  • A strong knowledge of beer and the ability to answer customer questions regarding style profiles and brewing processes
  • Excellent judgment and ability to provide service recovery for guest complaints
  • Willingness to create the best customer experience
  • A consistent team player who leads by example through staff development, critical thinking, and empathy
