About The Position

Essential Functions Essential Functions Summary : The Swing Shift Tank Lead plays a pivotal hands-on leadership role in overseeing daily welding and fabrication operations related to tank production within a manufacturing environment. This position ensures tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The Tank Lead trains and supervises team members, manages workflow, and collaborates across departments to meet production goals and maintain operational excellence. Hours of operation; 4:30pm – 2:30am Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of industrial or commercial welding/fabrication experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, welding techniques, and inspection standards.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to welding and tank operations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a production or metal fabrication environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the work of tank welders and fabricators on the production floor.
  • Schedule and prioritize tank-related welding and assembly tasks to meet production deadlines.
  • Perform complex welds and conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Train, coach, and mentor junior team members and new hires.
  • Monitor workflow and ensure adherence to project timelines and safety protocols.
  • Review and approve team members’ timecards and manage time punches in the HRIS system.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the tank production area.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align tank fabrication tasks with overall production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Tank Supervisor.
