We are serving long-term sustainable trends. Our business line: Ecoservices provides sulfuric acid regeneration, virgin sulfuric acid, treatment services, and much more. Position Overview: The Tank TA Coordinator will be responsible for developing turnaround work packages including scope, P&IDs, isolation plans, MOC triggers, QC hold points, drawings, procedures, and vendor scopes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in tank turnarounds/maintenance within chemical, refining, or heavy industrial environments; multi‑site experience strongly preferred OR bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Deep knowledge of API 653/650, NDE/NDT methods, coatings/linings for sulfuric acid service, and confined space/LOTO/hot work controls
  • Proven field leadership of multi‑contractor outages with tight windows and live‑plant interfaces.
  • Proficiency with CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo) and project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project)
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance (waste handling, manifests, emissions) and industrial hygiene (acid aerosols/mists, PPE)
  • Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, and structural drawings; competent in weld inspection/QC workflows
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 60–80% across North America; ability to work off‑hours during outages
  • TWIC (site dependent) and H2S/Respiratory qualifications as required
  • Must have excellent excel skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • API 653 Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector (preferred)
  • NACE/AMPP Coatings certification (CIP Level 1+ preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead risk assessments/JHAs and constructability reviews; ensure readiness through Stage Gate/Readiness Reviews (e.g., 90/60/30/14 days).
  • Define tank decon and neutralization methods (e.g., water wash, caustic neutralization, flushing, waste capture), waste characterization, manifests, and disposal plans.
  • Specify scaffolding, confined space entry plans, ventilation, lighting, rescue, atmospheric testing, and standby requirements.
  • Coordinate permits (LOTO, hot work, confined space, line break, crane/lift plans) and required MOC.
  • Pre stage materials, gaskets, nozzles, hatch hardware, coatings/linings, inserts/plate, instruments, and test kits; align Supply Chain on long lead items and contracting strategy (lump sum vs. T&M).
  • Serve as the site outage leader during tank turnaround windows—owning daily schedule, contractor coordination, and field safety leadership.
  • Ensure strict adherence to API 653 repair requirements, NDE/NDT plans, and coating/lining specifications and cure windows.
  • Manage quality assurance (fit up, weld procedures/WPS, welder qualifications, hold points, inspection reports, coatings QC, holiday testing, DFT measurements).
  • Track and manage schedule, cost, scope changes, and permit compliance daily; escalate barriers and implement recovery plans.
  • Maintain shift logs, daily progress tracking, variance analysis, and read across learnings for other sites.
  • Lead contractor selection and performance: tank cleaning, scaffolding, inspection (API 653/510/570, NDE), mechanical repair, coatings/linings, crane and rigging, and environmental services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards/regulations: API 653/650, API 571/579 (damage mechanisms/fitness for service), NACE/AMPP coatings guidance, OSHA (confined space, PSM where applicable), EPA waste management, DOT/TDG for transport, and local/regional requirements.
  • Maintain inspection records, as built/redlines, repair documentation, MTRs, NDE reports, coatings logs, test certificates, and turnover packages.
  • Drive root cause analysis for defects/rework; optimize inspection intervals, cleaning methods, and protection systems (e.g., linings, cathodic protection) based on failure modes.
  • Partner with the Capital Project Team to identify upgrade opportunities (materials of construction, manway design, nozzles, overfill protection, secondary containment, loadings, emissions controls).

Benefits

  • Competitive pay
  • Full benefit package starting day 1
  • 401k matching
