About The Position

Our partner has experience of almost 40 years in marine industry. We are now looking for our collaboration partner a highly motivated, responsible Tank Cleaning Foreman / Site Supervisor to lead our client company's marine and industrial cleaning team. This newly available leadership position is responsible for overseeing field operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of all tank cleaning and confined space entry projects across marine vessels, terminals, and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate is experienced in hazardous material handling, has strong leadership capabilities, and is committed to upholding the highest safety and compliance standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that involves both field supervision and team coordination.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical or Trade certification a plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial or marine cleaning, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of confined space entry, hazardous waste handling, and marine terminal operations.
  • Valid Confined Space Entry Supervisor certification (or ability to obtain immediately upon hire).
  • HAZWOPER 40 hour certification required (current or renewed within the last year preferred).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage crews under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to travel and work flexible shifts.
  • Physically capable of working in challenging environments: confined spaces, at heights, and in PPE.

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and safety-first mindset.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational or mechanical issues on the job site.
  • Experience with client communication and field reporting.
  • Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and marine safety procedures (ISM Code, MARPOL compliance, etc.).
  • Able to work independently while also collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of tank cleaning technicians across various job sites.
  • Plan, organise, and execute tank cleaning projects according to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and safety briefings prior to work commencement.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to company safety protocols, environmental regulations, and client site requirements.
  • Oversee confined space entry operations, including gas testing, permitting, and rescue readiness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during job execution, providing updates and resolving site-level issues.
  • Monitor job progress, inspect completed work, and ensure quality control and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely mobilization of equipment and personnel.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork, including daily logs, work permits, safety reports, and time sheets.
  • Train and mentor new and existing crew members to maintain a high-performing, safety-focused team.
