About The Position

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned. Cleans interiors of storage tanks, industrial processing tanks, other vessels to remove emulsion and incrustations, using shovels, squeegees, brooms, scrapers, hoses, water, and degreaser. Drains tank, connects hose to water or steam lines, and sprays walls, roof, and bottom of tank to flush residue, such as oil, grease, and sludge through tank openings. Scrapes and scrubs walls, using detergents, degreaser, scrapers, and brushes to remove incrustations, scales, or deposits of tar and asphalt. Sweeps up debris and shovels sludge into buckets or wheelbarrows or down chutes. Removes chemical residues and other liquids from tank bottoms with squeegees or pump and suction hoses. Dries tanks with portable air-drying equipment using rags or absorbent pads. Able to work efficiently in confided spaces. Adds specified degreasers to industrial tanks to maintain and replenish tank processing solutions. Performs other duties and services to ensure successful projects are delivered and clients are satisfied. Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; or certification from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and/or six months to two years’ experience in tank cleaning environment.
Able to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.
Able to read and understand all safety precautions and environmental requirements.
Able to pass a fit test for respirator equipment.
