About The Position

The TALL Embark Content Specialist is an entry-level position focused on creating language materials for missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This role involves collaboration with a team of content specialists and translators to ensure the accuracy and cultural relevance of language materials. The specialist will report to a supervisor or manager in the Training Department and will be responsible for quality control, uploading content, and providing feedback on language curriculum materials.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of a second language (speaking, reading, writing, translation, and grammar).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong writing/editing ability in a second language and in English.
• Ability to receive and implement feedback.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with MTC curriculum and practices.
• 1 year of experience teaching a foreign language.
• 1 year of experience using Embark and print materials.
• Understanding of linguistic systems (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, etc.).
• 1 year of experience with Google Sheets formulas and SQL queries.
• 1 year of experience with one of the following languages: Georgian, Burmese, Mandarin, Japanese, Cantonese, Thai, Polish, Finnish, Slovak, Greek.

Responsibilities

• Create language materials for specified languages.
• Collaborate with content specialists and translators to ensure accuracy.
• Support quality control projects and work with native speakers.
• Upload language content into the database and edit as necessary.
• Oversee translations and audio recordings for around 10 languages.
• Provide instruction and feedback on language curriculum materials.
• Utilize networking skills to collaborate with native speakers.
• Communicate with native speakers to gather translations and audio.
• Write and edit language materials for various projects.
• Work with a team of 4-8 individuals and implement feedback from supervisors.
