About The Position

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of? At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system. To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems. Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be. While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported. We’re looking for a motivated and curious Talent Sourcing Intern to join our Talent team. You’ll partner closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and senior sourcers to identify, engage, and nurture exceptional talent across a variety of functions - technical roles like engineering and product, or non-technical roles like finance, marketing, and operations. This internship is perfect for someone who wants to learn the fundamentals of sourcing in a fast-paced environment that combines data, creativity, and human connection to help build world-class teams at Coinbase.

Requirements

  • Curiosity & Research Mindset: You’re intellectually curious about how technology works and eager to learn how to identify top technical talent. You naturally dig deep, ask thoughtful questions, and connect dots across data and profiles.
  • Analytical Thinking: You’re comfortable using data to spot trends, measure outcomes, and guide decisions. You understand that sourcing is both an art and a science - where metrics, quality, and iteration matter.
  • Strong Written Communication: You can craft clear, engaging outreach messages that feel human, not canned. You pay attention to tone, detail, and relevance in every message.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: You can manage multiple priorities, track data in spreadsheets or CRMs, and keep candidate pipelines up to date with precision.
  • Tech & Tools Aptitude: You’re comfortable navigating online tools, databases, and sourcing platforms. Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, or Greenhouse is a plus, but not required, we’ll teach you.
  • Collaborative Energy: You enjoy working in a team environment where feedback and iteration are part of the process. You’re receptive to mentorship and proactive in sharing what you’re learning.
  • Adaptability & Growth Mindset: You thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and see every challenge as a learning opportunity. You take ownership, follow through, and continuously improve.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to recruiting or people operations (e.g., campus recruiting, HR internship, student organization).
  • Basic familiarity with technical roles (Software Engineer, ML Engineer, Product Designer, etc.) and/or non-technical roles (Finance, Marketing, Sales, etc.).
  • Experience in research, data analytics, or writing (all highly transferable to sourcing).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior sourcers to research and identify top technical and non-technical talent across multiple channels (LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, and other platforms).
  • Use tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, and Greenhouse to build diverse and qualified candidate pipelines.
  • Write and test personalized outreach messages, leveraging A/B testing to improve response rates.
  • Learn how to analyze recruiting funnel metrics and understand sourcing KPIs (response rate, pass-through rate, quality yield, etc.).
  • Conduct market mapping and competitor analysis to uncover new talent pools.
  • Support sourcing operations by tagging candidates, maintaining CRM hygiene, and updating dashboards.
  • Participate in weekly team syncs to share insights, learn best practices, and iterate on sourcing strategies.
  • Gain exposure to candidate evaluation frameworks, technical assessment workflows, and hiring bar calibration.
