About The Position

The Talent Management & Development Manager is a blend of strategic architecting and hands-on operational leadership across corporate, manufacturing, and distribution/warehouse environments. This role requires someone who is comfortable moving between the boardroom (presenting ROI to executives) and the factory floor (supporting manufacturing skill development). This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of employee growth, including building best-in-class internship and early talent programs, driving succession planning and bench strength, and partnering across HR and the business to support a high-performing, highly engaged workforce across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. As the curriculum architect, this position manages internal learning systems, applies instructional design methodologies, oversees vendor relationships, and leads the performance management program. A strong emphasis on data and ROI ensures that learning and development initiatives are directly linked to business outcomes and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or a closely related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of enterprise-wide learning and development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in talent development and talent management, including succession planning, workforce planning, and high-potential program design.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience with accountability for team performance, development, and results.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Proven expertise in human capital strategy, organizational capability development, employee engagement, and organizational design initiatives.
  • Experience administering and optimizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and leveraging learning technologies to enhance delivery, tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting workforce and performance data to identify trends and deliver actionable, data-driven recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including advanced presentation and facilitation abilities, with the capacity to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality outcomes within established timelines.
  • Strong employee relations acumen with a consultative, customer-focused approach to internal partnerships.
  • High level of attention to detail supported by strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to see and hear (correctable).
  • Ability to communicate verbally.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership in the development and execution of the organization's enterprise-wide talent, learning, and leadership development strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and workforce planning priorities.
  • Lead and manage the Learning & Development function, including direct oversight of the Senior Learning & Development Specialist, to strengthen workforce capabilities and support manufacturing and distribution operations through targeted skill development and career progression initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance integrated early talent, internship, management, and senior leadership development programs that build sustainable pipelines and organizational bench strength.
  • Oversee and optimize learning systems, tools, and infrastructure to ensure scalable, accessible, and effective delivery of development solutions across the organization.
  • Serve as curriculum architect, applying instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create innovative, high-impact learning solutions that drive measurable performance outcomes.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate program effectiveness; analyze workforce and learning data to deliver executive-level insights and demonstrate return on investment.
  • Oversee the Performance Management Program, including facilitation, training, administration, and continuous improvement initiatives that reinforce organizational culture, engagement, and strategic imperatives.
  • Assess organizational development needs and determine appropriate delivery strategies, leveraging internal expertise and external consultants to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and measurable impact.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating talent and learning strategies into actionable initiatives that enhance organizational capability and employee engagement.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence, Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Total Rewards, Employee Relations, business leaders, and external vendors to design, implement, and continuously improve talent management initiatives across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, user-centered learning materials and ensure all resources remain current, organized, and aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Manage and, when appropriate, facilitate enterprise training and leadership programs, ensuring operational excellence in planning, logistics, and delivery.
  • Stay informed of emerging trends and best practices in organizational and employee development, and proactively recommend and implement innovative approaches that enhance learning effectiveness and business performance.
  • Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned.
