The Key Account Manager is responsible for prospecting, selling, pricing, and profitability within the National Accounts - East region, focusing on unsold key national accounts such as Publix, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Meijer, Wakefern, BJs, and Southeastern Grocers. The role involves expanding presence at Ahold Banners including Giant Martins, Giant Food, Stop & Shop, Hannaford, and Food Lion, with a portfolio that includes Hispanic Brands like La Chona and FUD, specifically in the categories of Hispanic Dairy (Cheeses & Creams) and Packaged Meats (Franks, Sausages, Hams, Lunchmeat). The Key Account Manager develops new business by analyzing account potential, initiating, developing, and closing the sales cycle, while collaborating with Category Managers and Buyers to ensure successful execution of negotiations at the point of sale.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or three (3) years' work-related experience
  • Three years' experience in selling/account management in consumer goods
  • Bilingual English-Spanish

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in National Accounts - Grocery for consumer goods (food/snacking)
  • SAP knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Develops sales and marketing strategies to support new distribution.
  • Rely on syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen) and identify trends and opportunities to tell a story to customers, sales pitch presentation.
  • Handling Pricing definition and promotional strategy to ensure trial and velocity, including setting up Demos, Coupons, Sponsorships etc.
  • Coordinate key Food shows (customers and/or industry) to attend and promote products.
  • Coordinate product samples and tastings for meetings with key account buyers.
  • Responsible for opening and securing new accounts, setup vendor forms and items in customers' portals.
  • Setup delivery schedule directly to customers' Warehouse or identify and work with key brokers/distributors/other Sigma DSD Offices to reach desired store count.
  • Interact with Replenishment buyers, responsible for keeping a good service level and coordinate with internal supply chain team to minimize disruptions to customers.
  • Prepares reports and scorecards in Excel and PowerPoint by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Forecasting product demand (bookings).
  • Co-responsible for Account Receivables.
  • Collaborate with other KAMs, Marketing, and Trade Marketing on business synergies and strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
