About The Position

We are a growing excavation and civil construction company in Middle Tennessee seeking a driven, relationship-oriented Recruiter / Workforce Development Manager to help us attract, hire, and develop top talent. This role will focus on recruiting for: Heavy Equipment Operators CDL Drivers Skilled Laborers Foremen & Project Support Staff Office & Administrative Positions Additionally, this individual will build relationships with local high schools, trade programs, and workforce development organizations to develop a long-term talent pipeline and expand our internal training program. This is not a passive HR role — we need someone proactive, connected, and motivated to win the talent battle in our industry.

Requirements

  • Experience recruiting in construction, skilled trades, or industrial sectors preferred
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable working with field leadership and jobsite personnel
  • Experience working with high schools or workforce programs a plus
  • Self-starter with high energy and accountability
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies for field and office roles
  • Post jobs, screen candidates, conduct interviews, and coordinate hiring
  • Attend job fairs, industry events, and workforce expos
  • Build and maintain an active candidate pipeline
  • Reduce time-to-hire and improve retention through better candidate matching
  • Establish relationships with local high schools, trade schools, technical colleges, and workforce development programs
  • Promote careers in construction and excavation
  • Develop internship, apprenticeship, and summer work programs
  • Assist in structuring and growing our internal training program
  • Help position our company as an employer of choice in Middle Tennessee
  • Work with leadership on social media recruiting initiatives
  • Promote company culture, career growth, and advancement opportunities
  • Support onboarding and early employee engagement
  • Assist with onboarding processes
  • Monitor turnover trends
  • Recommend improvements to improve employee retention and morale
