About The Position

Newfields is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead and support recruitment efforts across the organization. This role plays a key part in attracting, engaging, and hiring a diverse and highly qualified workforce. The Talent Acquisition Specialist partners closely with hiring managers across departments including curatorial, education, visitor services, development, and operations to design and implement inclusive hiring practices that reflect Newfields’ mission, values, and commitment to equity and access. This position also plays an important role in shaping the candidate experience and strengthening Newfields’ employer brand within the arts and nonprofit communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Arts Administration, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, preferably within a nonprofit, museum, or cultural organization
  • Knowledge of full-cycle recruitment best practices and employment laws
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting for specialized or creative roles (curatorial, education, conservation, design, etc.)
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms (experience with UKG is a plus)
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for positions across the organization
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies
  • Draft and post inclusive, accurate job descriptions aligned with organizational goals
  • Source candidates through diverse channels including art networks, academic institutions, and community organizations
  • Screen applicants and coordinate interviews
  • Facilitate hiring processes and assist with candidate selection
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with offer preparation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Represent Newfields at job fairs, networking events, and community outreach initiatives
  • Support efforts to promote Newfields as an employer of choice within the arts and nonprofit sectors
  • Coordinate with HR colleagues to support onboarding and orientation processes
  • Ensure a smooth transition from recruitment to onboarding
  • Assist with recruitment-related training for hiring managers
  • Ensure recruitment practices comply with applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records within the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Prepare recruitment reports and analyze hiring data to improve processes
  • Assist with HR projects related to workforce planning, internships, fellowships, and seasonal staffing
  • Stay informed on trends in talent acquisition within museums, arts organizations, and nonprofit sectors
  • Support the HR team by serving as backup for maintaining the HRIS with current and accurate employee data
