About The Position

Come join the King County Parks and Recreation Division Human Resources team! The Parks Division is seeking a customer-focused and innovative Talent Acquisition Specialist (Human Resource Analyst) who will be responsible for a wide range of human resource activities. This position will primarily focus on recruiting efforts and assisting with critical hires for the division. This is a fantastic opportunity to be exposed to full cycle recruitment and selection practices using DNRP's Recruitment Standards. This opportunity is only open to current King County employees. We are not currently accepting external applications. In addition to the current opening, this recruitment may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to fill future Talent Acquisition Specialist (HR Analyst, Career Service) positions throughout the Department of Natural Resources & Parks (DNRP) over the next six months. About the Role: This role plays a key part in helping Parks HR attract and hire talented team members who support our service-focused mission. The Talent Acquisition Specialist (HR Analyst) will lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding efforts in close partnership with hiring managers and department leaders. They will also build relationships with local and regional organizations, represent Parks at career events and job fairs, and support sourcing efforts to grow our candidate pipeline. Additional responsibilities include records management, HR generalist support, training and orientation, maintaining HR databases, and other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager II. This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work. Requirements

  • Increasingly responsible human resource generalist experience, with a strong emphasis on full-cycle recruitment, including occasional high-volume hiring.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to track and manage multiple recruitments and handle complex, multilayered issues with often competing priorities.
  • Strong customer service skills and advanced proficiency in written and verbal communications
  • Proven ability to work effectively and respectfully individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and/or Human Capital Management (HCM) software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Multiple years of human resources experience, including public sector work in large, unionized environments with high-volume recruitment needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including consulting with hiring managers, posting jobs, coordinating outreach, screening applicants, preparing interview materials, tracking candidates, and overseeing pre-employment processes.
  • Support recruitment initiatives through community outreach, talent-sourcing, recruitment planning, and building professional networks with a focus on diversity.
  • Perform HR generalist duties such as maintaining records, completing PeopleSoft entries, responding to employee inquiries, supporting HR processes, and collaborating with Senior HR
  • Analysts and Human Resource Manager II on special projects.
  • Process Special Duty, probationary and initial hire approvals and notifications.
