About The Position

Tae Kwon Do- Instructor must be able to teach and have knowledge of Tae Kwon Do and Tae Kwon Do specific skills. All instructors must be familiar working with children and have an enthusiastic attitude. Instructors must possess good communication skills to enable them to interact with children and parents. The incumbent must be able to lift heavy equipment and be able to conduct rigorous sports classes. Wear suitable clothing and shoes that will not prevent them from teaching effectively. Attend all staff meetings and departmental trainings required by the Associate Director of Physical Programs and all mandatory trainings required by the Westfield Area Y. Teach safe Tae Kwon Do classes in which the instructor is trained. Take attendance at the beginning of every class. Relate to each participant equally and consistently through the entire class session. Perform other duties and assignments as deemed necessary by the Associate Director of Physical Programs or the Senior Director- Member Wellness and Engagement. Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Possess and maintain a ranking of Black Belt or higher
  • Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and Professional Rescuers, Basic First Aid, EPI and Asthma certifications within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be able to teach and have knowledge of Tae Kwon Do and Tae Kwon Do specific skills.
  • Must be familiar working with children and have an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Instructors must possess good communication skills to enable them to interact with children and parents.
