About The Position

Peraton seeks a USMC Tactical Data Link Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MARFORPAC, at Camp Smith, HI. The SME will serve as the subject matter expert on tactical data link (TDL) systems and architectures, with expert experience in building major exercise and contingency tactical data link architectures that construct kill chains integrating with Joint kill chains/webs. The position requires knowledge of Joint tactical systems and applications, with a preference for Marine Corps or Navy experience with specific equipment such as Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S), Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Low Volume Terminal (LVT) 11, and others. The SME will advise and assist U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) and U.S. Pacific Fleet (PACFLT) in developing the Marine Corps' portion of a data link architecture to satisfy information exchange requirements (IER) in support of Joint kill chains. Responsibilities include implementing DoD policy for interface control, coordinating execution of INDOPACOM’s and the TJFACC’s intent for tactical data links, and improving critical theater multi-tactical datalink architectures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Completion of Joint Interoperability Division- Training Center Courses.
  • Experience in writing OPTASKLINK for operations and exercises.
  • Experience in coordinating with service Network Design Facilities (NDF) in creating new Link 16 networks.
  • U.S Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as MARFORPAC subject matter expert (SME) on tactical data link (TDL) systems and architectures.
  • Advise/assist U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) and U.S. Pacific Fleet (PACFLT) in developing the Marine Corps' portion of a data link architecture.
  • Implement DoD policy for interface control in coordination with PACFLT and assigned Fleet Marine Forces (FMF).
  • Coordinate execution of INDOPACOM’s and the TJFACC’s intent and guidance for tactical data links.
  • Coordinate across MFP staff section to assist in the development of plans related to peacetime and wartime IERs.
  • Coordinate with higher, adjacent, and subordinate commands to improve critical theater multi-tactical datalink architectures.
  • Act as the SME for the Marines in the Pacific theater on all datalink protocols and exchange requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate all datalink hardware, firmware, and software upgrades.
  • Advise and direct units on standards of operation in the MARFORPAC theater Multi-TDL Network.
  • Advise technicians on methods of resolving and troubleshooting TDL problems.
  • Recommend changes to operations and maintenance processes to improve mission readiness.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance to HQMC, INDOPACOM, MARFORPAC, and MSC staffs.
  • Provide kill chain assessment/analysis to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Plan for and provide recommendations on the employment of TDL systems.
  • Conduct briefings, provide written or oral reports/presentations and updates for staff.
