Table Games Blackjack Dealer School DEALER TRAINING: Table Games Blackjack Dealer School START DATE: Monday, February 2, 2026 END DATE: Thursday, March 5, 2026 SCHEDULE: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm OR Monday – Thursday, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Oaklawn is currently looking for candidates interested in attending Dealer School focusing on Blackjack. Class will run from February 2, 2026 to March 5, 2026 with auditions to follow. Your completed application must be received by Friday, January 30, 2026! Dealer School Open Interviews Monday, January 12th 11:00am – 12:00pm Thursday, January 15th 4:00pm – 5:00pm Monday, January 19th 11:00am – 12:00pm Thursday, January 22nd 4:00pm – 5:00pm Monday, January 26th 11:00am – 12:00pm Thursday, January 29th 4:00pm – 5:00pm To be considered for Dealer School Candidates Must: Candidates must pass an HR Interview, Math Test and Department Interview Candidates understand they attend this Dealer School on their own time and are not a Team Member of Oaklawn. Dealer School is free to attend if selected after completing all the necessary interviews and test. Candidates do not receive pay during the training because they are not Team Members of Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort. Dealer School is 6 weeks long (two classes – AM and PM) Class is on Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday Class is from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm OR 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Dealer School will only be able to have a maximum of 15 candidates attend during the 5 week training period. Successful completion of Dealer School requires: Must be at least 21 years of age High school diploma or GED required; Adhere to Dealer School Attendance Policy No more than 3 absences over the duration of the class Missed class = 1 absence Tardy = .5 absence Days off from class must be pre-approved by instructor Candidates dismissed from class due to exceeding 2 points may attend a future class, but must re-apply and re-interview Candidates must have a positive and upbeat attitude during dealer school; this will be monitored by the instructor during class time Excellent skills in both written and oral communication Must be fast and accurate in handling cash Must be able to quickly and accurately perform mathematical computations when determining winners and losers and collecting and paying out bets Must possess good manual dexterity for quick and accurate handling of chips, cards and money Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds and air quality Must be able to stand for majority of shift Dress is business casual (no jeans with holes, pajamas, shorts, leggings, flip flops, hats, facial piercings, gauges, etc.) Candidates Who Successful Pass Final Audition: Will be offered a Part Time position on Swing or Grave shift (nights). Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Requirements
