About The Position

The T&D Meter Tech I position is an entry-level role focused on developing skills in technical metering through a structured progression program. Under supervision, the incumbent will learn to install, test, calibrate, and maintain metering installations while ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role aims to prepare the individual for certification as a T&D Meter Tech Sr.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Possess or working towards an A.A.S. in Electronics/Electrical Power or completion of the Measurement Services Technical Certificate Program.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver License.
• Practical understanding of the Safety Handbook relative to Measurement Services.
• Knowledge of Oncor rules and market protocols related to accurate metering and billing.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and demonstrate continual knowledge and proficiencies through the Meter Technician Progression Program, culminating in the achievement of T&D Meter Tech Sr. certification.
• Assist T&D Meter Tech Sr. and T&D Meter Tech Lead on complex meter installations and training of the Meter Technician position.
• Independently inspect, install, test, calibrate, repair, maintain, and verify all self-contained and instrument rated metering installations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and perform all work consistent with the Safety Handbook.
• Recognize and understand the theory of transformer connectivity as it relates to metering.
