Job Description Job Summary Performs a variety of work connected with the operations, inspections, and maintenance of Combined Cycle Generation sites. Performs varied mechanical, basic electrical and basic control and instrument maintenance activities and other duties necessary to maintain steam & electric generation facilities. What you will do Performs Combined Cycle operations, inspections, and maintenance in a safe and efficient manner adhering to all company guidelines to ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal regulations. Performs and participates in job safety briefings, safety reviews and safety observations. Operation in the control room and Combined Cycle Distributed Control Systems (DCS) under direct supervision or when qualified or proficiency demonstrated. Performs Contractor safety orientations and job safety briefings with contractors performing work as required. Works closely with contractors on troubleshooting, repairing and/or installing equipment. Observes, operates and initiates repairs to Combined Cycle equipment. Maintains an accurate operating log of equipment and performs preventive maintenance to sustain equipment availability and reliability. Performs inspections and assists with maintenance of the site, Combined Cycle and related equipment utilizing Maximo and predictive and preventive maintenance processes and procedures. Self performs when qualified. Performs and documents routine inspections of the site, Combined Cycle and related equipment, and collects and retains necessary data to support regulatory permit requirements and reporting. Maintains performance monitoring and control equipment. Monitors gas and steam turbine performance. Keeps testing records as assigned. Participates in the performance of warehouse activities, ordering supplies as needed, and supports inventory activities. Assists with monitoring, calibrating and performance of minor repairs of recording and indicating instrumentation including emissions control & monitoring systems. Self performs when qualified. Performs and participates in regular inspections, overhauls and maintenance of related plant equipment. Maintains and operates water treatment systems. Receives and unloads acid, caustic and other chemicals needed for the operation of the facility. Troubleshoots and assists with repairs to the water treatment system controls and valves. Maintains optimum water treatment system performance and environmental water permits compliance. Performs tests and reports data on water treatment systems. Safely operates mobile equipment to perform maintenance tasks. Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions. Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities. Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices. Performs other duties which are similar, related or incidental to this position. Qualified to perform the duties of laboratory positions. Train other employees to qualify in this and subordinate positions. Supports operation and maintenance activities at other generating facilities as needed.
