About The Position

This position is responsible for the operation, and monitoring of equipment at the Emery Generating Station. The role may be filled at the Apprentice or Journey level depending upon qualifications. The employee will demonstrate knowledge and safe work practices, which includes observing and following safety rules, policies, and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors that may lead to accidents. The position involves performing a variety of work connected with the operations, preventative inspections, and maintenance of a combined cycle plant. The employee may be required to work at locations other than Emery Generating Station as needed. Responsibilities also include performing basic water sampling and chemistry analysis on systems, clean-up and preservation tasks throughout the facility, assisting with the operation of control equipment to obtain safe and economical operation, and supporting safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities. All work must be performed according to established procedures and safety practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience and/or equivalent in an electric generating, manufacturing and/or processing/production facility.
• General knowledge of mathematics and science at the high school level.
• Proven mechanical ability and aptitude.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Strong sense of pride in work, ownership, and work ethic.
• Knowledge of plant operations and systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and technical manuals.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of First Aid and CPR.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to learn and use various computer applications.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills and functions.

Responsibilities
