Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Test Engineer to join our Surface Radars team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline. In this role, you will serve as a key technical member of the Shipboard Test Team, collaborating with various group of stakeholders, including the Total Ship Computing Environment Infrastructure (TSCEI) Lead, System Integration and System Test Management, Navy Agencies, Navy Labs, Zumwalt Prime Contractors, and critical vendors. As a Systems Test Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in the installation, configuration, activation, testing, and troubleshooting of Raytheon and non-Raytheon equipment connected to the TSCEI network This position is based in Honolulu, HI, with exciting opportunities to conduct shipboard testing during ship system activations, tests, and at-sea periods.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior experience.
  • Experience with Linux, Unix and/or other programming language.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Linux system administration (CLI), particularly RedHat.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C, and/or C++.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory/Exchange administration.
  • CISCO CCNA, Redhat OS, and Fiber Optic Certifications are highly desired.
  • Active/Current DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and conduct testing of tactical network equipment and systems, ensuring accurate reporting of results.
  • Perform hardware and firmware upgrades and maintain detailed records of activities.
  • Provide maintenance and upkeep for the ship’s tactical network(s) and systems.
  • Interact with both Zumwalt shipbuilders and their vendors in a collaborative manner
  • Provide daily internal status reports to the TSCE lead.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Engineering and customer representatives.
  • Provide underway system support for at sea test events.
  • Physical requirements of this position will include: the ability to work in confined spaces, climb stairs, lift and carry 35 lbs., work in an industrial environment, and live/work for short periods at sea.
