About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Technician to join our Data Center Operations / Network Operations Center (NOC) team. This team is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of global technology systems that support Manufacturing, Distribution, Corporate, Retail, and ERP operations. The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills, deep monitoring experience, and the ability to work independently on overnight shifts once fully trained. The overnight Work schedule would be Thursday – Saturday (6:00pm –6:30am). Tech team swaps every other Wednesday. So it's Four days one week (Wed. –Sat.), Three the next (Thu. – Sat.)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Center Operations, NOC support, Systems Technician roles, or similar IT operational environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with network monitoring, server monitoring, infrastructure alerting, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (monitoring, batch jobs, process flows).
  • Strong understanding of core IT infrastructure:
  • Windows/Linux servers
  • Networking fundamentals (switches, firewalls, routing basics)
  • UPS / power systems
  • Data center hardware
  • Experience using enterprise ticketing systems (Fresh service preferred but not required).
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset, urgency in response, and ability to operate independently.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and situational awareness skills.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor network infrastructure, servers, data center health, and UPS/backup power systems using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Oversee ERP batch processing, scheduled jobs, and data flow across global systems.
  • Identify, triage, and respond to alerts, system degradation, outages, and performance issues.
  • Monitor global Manufacturing, Distribution Centers, Corporate offices, and Retail environments for operational disruptions.
  • Receive, process, and escalate incidents using Fresh service (ticketing system).
  • Provide Level 1/Level 2 support for escalations from global business units.
  • Document incidents thoroughly and ensure proper handoff to engineering teams when needed.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams during outages or high‑impact events.
  • Perform routine checks on servers, network devices, and environmental systems.
  • Execute standard operating procedures for system restarts, failovers, and maintenance windows.
  • Assist with patching cycles, data center tasks, and hardware monitoring.
  • Work collaboratively with crossover with seasoned technicians during the training period (1–2 months).
  • Once fully trained and comfortable, operate solo on assigned shifts, ensuring stable and continuous 24/7 operations.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and provide detailed turnover notes.
