About The Position

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community. ACS' Family Services Division (FSD) is a beacon of support to families by connecting them to community-based resources. The division works to provide resources that maintain the safety and well-being of families by promoting child and parent well-being, strengthening the ability of parents and guardians to keep their children safe and reducing the risk of repeat maltreatment, neglect, and placements/re-placements into foster care. FSD provides guidance and resources to our contracted providers that strengthen their ability to assess and address the service needs of families we serve. Within FSD, the Systems' team manages the technological systems used by prevention providers. The unit is involved in the planning, implementation, and sustainability of new and enhanced ACS systems utilized by providers. FSD is seeking a motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented Systems Support Undergraduate Intern to join our Systems' team. As a Systems Support Undergraduate Intern, you will support our Systems' team in day-to-day operations and contribute to long-term projects aimed at supporting the maintenance of prevention systems that service a network of 159 service providers across NYC. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a student interested in public service and improving outcomes for NYC's children and families. Additionally, as a member of the 2026, ACS Summer Internship Program cohort, you will participate in an enrichment program designed to fully engage students into the ACS and NYC government experience. Internship programming includes professional development workshops, lunch and learns, speaker events, NYC government tours, and networking opportunities.
