About The Position

As a Systems Security Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security of essential IT infrastructure. You will provide heavy support of the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure IT systems. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in IT security or a related field. Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience is required. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Advanced understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Experience with security frameworks and standards such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-53.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining compliance documentation for required security frameworks.
  • Active US Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • FAA Class III Medical Certification required. Candidates without current certification must obtain it prior to hire.
  • Ability to complete Altitude Chamber training and qualification.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Information Systems Security Engineer Certified Authorization Professional (ISSE CAP) Certification.
  • Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+/SecurityX) Certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Linux, and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security Certification.
  • Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Functional experience with vulnerability scanning, compliance scanning and/or remediation.
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of secure IT systems and networks.
  • Perform expert-level security monitoring and tuning.
  • Manage and lead complex incident response and digital forensics activities.
  • Conduct thorough risk and vulnerability assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee security controls and protocols.
  • Research and integrate new security tools and technologies.
  • Document, analyze, and report on security breaches and their implications.
  • Mentor junior security engineers and contribute to their professional growth.
