About The Position

The Systems Engineer – Cabin & Visibility is responsible for defining, managing, and validating system requirements for vehicle cabin components that impact driver visibility, ergonomics, safety, and occupant experience. This role works cross-functionally with design, electrical, software, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure robust system architecture and successful vehicle integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Typically 3–8+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering or requirements engineering.
  • Experience working within an OEM or Tier-1 supplier environment.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes (V-model).
  • Experience with requirement management tools (DOORS, Polarion, Jama, etc.).
  • Familiarity with vehicle electrical architectures and communication protocols (CAN/LIN preferred).
  • Knowledge of automotive development lifecycle from concept to launch.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Systems or Automotive Engineering.
  • Experience with visibility, interior, cockpit, or human factors engineering.
  • Knowledge of functional safety concepts or regulatory compliance.
  • Exposure to model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Understanding of validation methods and test planning.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, analyze, and decompose customer and regulatory requirements into system-level specifications.
  • Develop and maintain requirements using industry-standard tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jama).
  • Define system architecture and allocate requirements to hardware, software, and mechanical domains.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with vehicle programs.
  • Manage requirement traceability from concept through production.
  • Support system integration activities and resolve interface issues across cabin subsystems.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with OEM performance and quality standards.
  • Participate in verification and validation planning, including DVP&R development.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards (FMVSS, NHTSA, ISO where applicable).
  • Drive issue resolution using structured problem-solving methods.
