About The Position

The Systems Reliability Engineer is focused on ensuring systems and equipment function consistently and without failure over their lifecycle. This role involves identifying and managing risks that could adversely affect business operations and manufacturing processes. It is a proactive discipline that applies engineering techniques to prevent or reduce the frequency of failures before they happen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong background in PLC programming and automation systems.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM): Ability to apply a structured framework to determine the optimal maintenance strategy for any physical asset. Ability to identify failure modes and the consequences of those failures to develop the most cost-effective and efficient maintenance plan.
  • Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM): Ability to interpret data from real-time equipment monitoring techniques, such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, and infrared thermography to detect early onset of failures and recommend maintenance precisely when it is needed to avoid unnecessary downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to proactively identify and mitigate potential equipment failures before they occur.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring equipment failures to develop and implement lasting corrective actions.
  • Develop and refine asset maintenance plans, incorporating preventive and predictive strategies based on data analysis.
  • Apply statistical data analysis and reliability modeling to predict system failures and prioritize improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with project engineering on new installations to establish design specifications that ensure reliability and maintainability.
  • Manage lifecycle asset strategies, using value analysis to guide decisions on whether to repair, replace, or redesign components.
  • Analyze maintenance data to optimize spare parts inventory, ensuring availability for critical components while controlling costs.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations personnel on complex equipment issues and reliability best practices.
