The DCU is looking for a computer programmer who can work with the Unit’s Information Systems team to develop and maintain the Unit’s clinical trials management system referred to as WebDCU™. This includes participating in web-based information management application validation and documentation, working with the study teams (clients) to ensure users’ needs are met, and assisting in the development, maintenance and upgrade of the Unit’s clinical trials management software. This WebDCU™ system supports all project and data management activities of the clinical trials managed by the DCU.

  • Independently execute the analysis and implementation of various modules housed within WebDCU™.
  • Coordinates with team leaders on system development, documentation and testing.
  • Completes milestones within required time frames.
  • Plans, designs and implements individual projects within the WebDCU system, including data transfers in and out of the system.
  • Provides ongoing support and maintenance through the entire life of the project.
  • Independently process and implement database change requests from end users
  • Participate in conducting and documenting computerized system validation activities according to standard operating procedures.
  • Determines end user needs by participating as an active member at internal and external study team meetings.
  • Performs demonstrations of newly developed tools and functions to internal and external users.
  • Helps with the design and development of database architectures.
  • Creates stored procedures, triggers, views, etc. to perform project tasks.
  • Reviews and validates work that has been completed by other team members.
  • Test, validate and debug new installations
  • A high school diploma and three years work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software.
  • An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
