PURVIS has an immediate opening for a Systems Operations Support Technician. We are looking for an tech-minded individual to be responsible for providing operational support for the testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and deployment of computer systems, hardware and software. Work will be performed at client site, as well as PURVIS office in Queens Village, NY. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include: Conduct daily monitoring of systems operations against expected performance, including retrieving and reviewing system operational and nightly logs. Document any anomalies and alert Program Manager. Provide system engineering support to end users to document and report issues. Conduct investigation into any operational anomalies or failures of systems. Document characteristics of anomalies / failures and define and document cause to the hardware, software, communications and/or configuration level. Provide operational support to resolve anomalies / failures. Facilitate third party efforts (IT and software / hardware organizations and vendors; etc.) to assist in resolution in their respective areas of expertise. Ensure system logs, application and operating system, are available to assist in troubleshooting efforts. Support testing, problem resolution and system rollout at remote sites throughout New York City boroughs. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of both system hardware and software in accordance with provided maintenance procedures and best practices. Verify system performance after maintenance actions. Conduct final testing and verification of all system hardware, software, network and configuration modifications. Document test results. Conduct rollout of system upgrades. Provide project management support, for system upgrades and other initiatives, to include: meeting minutes, status reports, action item databases and project schedules.
