About The Position

Overview: This is a key role to drive growth, innovation, and competitiveness in GEV’s Gas Power Business. We need a proven leader in the gas power industry to fill this position. Key Responsibilities: - Lead efforts across Gas Power Engineering teams to develop integrated solutions that add value for customers and GEV. - Work with other leaders to shape product strategies and plans. - Promote technology development to stay competitive. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage technical risks, improve processes, and solve complex system-level problems. Critical Focus for the First Year: - Execute New Product Introduction (NPI) for data centers and third-party generators. - Support initiatives to significantly increase delivery volume through standardization Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Provide Plant System Engineering expertise including product history, plant layout, configuration control, performance limits and MGPP’s (Multi-generational Product Plant). Effectively balance product goals / understand trade-offs for: quality, performance, cost, reliability, operability, and emissions. Organize engineering-team work and facilitate team interactions. Develop engineering resource plans and drive program to completion. 100% accountable for on time, on budget, and quality product deliverable. Quickly and decisively solve customer issues related to product quality, performance, reliability, and operability to build goodwill and trust in GEV. Lead execution of NPI programs to meet objectives for quality, schedule, cost, performance, and validation, working collaboratively across engineering organizations. Ensure the application of the NPI Process and coordinate the organization of Technical Reviews together with the Chief Engineers Office. Clearly identify and communicate technical and program risks. Devise, communicate and implement mitigation actions to lower these risks by working collaboratively across business functions. Set and clearly communicate strategic direction to engineering teams. Enable GEV to differentiate from its competitors and adapt to changing power-market environment for customers with consideration for regional differences. Collaboratively work across organizations (manufacturing, services, engineering, product management) to improve processes, role clarity, and tools to improve speed and effectiveness. Prepare the applicable product documentation necessary for hand-over to ITO and submittal to partners and customers. Support the ITO (Inquiry To Order) team on commercial bidding activities and be prepared to be engaged with customers to provide meaningful insight and guidance that apply to their needs. Provide mentorship to professional and lead professional engineers inside and outside of the team.

Requirements

  • This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering.
  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • Significant technical experience in engineering.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • 8 years of technical experience in engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent.
  • Prior systems engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant equipment and demonstrated technical credibility.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, coaching expertise and success working across internal business functions, other GEV businesses / GRC.
  • Experience defining technical programs and design & development of new products and uprates.
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of involving and influencing all levels of GEV and customer organizations.
  • Self-starter with energy, positive attitude and legacy of delivering on commitments in a fast-paced dynamics environment.
