About The Position

The Strategic Communications organization within Collins Aerospace in Marlborough, MA is looking for a Systems Integration Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for planning and executing the design and development of support equipment to enable engineering teams to execute a variety of environmental and performance testing of communication systems. The candidate will work with Integration and Test engineers to develop requirements for them. They will plan, schedule, design, fabricate and oversee the assembly and checkout of electrical and mechanical, non-deliverable support equipment used to test military communication systems in an indoor/outdoor test facility.

Requirements

  • Familiarity of military electrical connector types, back shells, crimp and solder contacts
  • Ability to perform basic wire and component soldering
  • Ability to perform cable and wiring assembly using crimp and solder methods
  • Ability to perform Mechanical and Electrical assembly and test
  • Working knowledge and comprehension of electrical schematics and assembly drawings
  • Familiarity with web ordering of electrical components, connector hardware and raw material
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Active and transferable TOP SECRET clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Manage the assembly and checkout of electrical assemblies, signal and RF test cables and connectors involving soldering and crimp contact installations
  • Obtain a working knowledge and understanding of electronics
  • Ability to read and understand schematic and assembly diagrams, circuit card layouts, electrical components and power systems
  • Ability to fault isolate and troubleshoot similar assemblies
  • Occasionally work extra hours or modified time to meet critical schedule deadlines
