About the position

As a Systems Integration & Test Engineer, you will work on the deployment of See and Spray across a fleet of vehicles through testing, triaging, and debugging. This role is multi-team, multi-disciplinary, with high visibility and will have a large impact on the future of precision agriculture. Our teams are empowered to figure out how to overcome challenges, plan and prioritize work – everyone is a key contributor.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the integration of complex multi-disciplinary robotic systems with Embedded Software, Electrical Engineering, Operations, and related teams around System Verification and Validation (V&V) within Blue River Technology and John Deere.
  • Build and maintain test strategies and tests that check the intersection of HW, SW, and cloud components working together, ensuring proper system functionality for fleet-deployed vehicles.
  • Understand and stay up-to-speed on complex problems in real-time, escalating to appropriate stakeholders across the organization.
  • Directly support fleet deployment from the cloud to the vehicle (e.g., over-the-air update, telemetry).
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues, including but not limited to platform and application SW, sensors, compute HW, electrical, and cloud-based systems.
  • Translating system and customer needs into testable requirements.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in high-tech vehicle, robotic, or agricultural products.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with only high-level direction.
  • Generalist attitude with proven ability to dive deep fast and willingness to learn continuously.
  • Ability to write simple software scripts to support testing, deployment, and on-device automation (Python, Bash, or C++) or microcontroller programming such as Parker and Danfoss.
  • Familiarity with Linux (systemd, networking sockets, bash).

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in one or more of the following fields: SW engineering, embedded software and systems, RTOS, CAN, cloud computing, networking, system timing, sensors (camera, radar, lidar), geo-localization (GPS & IMU), remote sensing, machine learning/artificial intelligence, or on-edge compute.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $108,000 - $162,000.
  • Eligibility for Blue River’s bonus and benefit programs.
