ITA is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer III to join the team supporting the Department of State in Rosslyn, VA. Please note this opportunity is contingent upon successful contract award, expected Spring 2026. The Bureau of Diplomatic Security is responsible for the protection of U.S. personnel, official facilities, and residences in domestic and overseas locations. This team specifically supports the Technical Surveillance Countermeasures branch, responsible for electronic security, anti-eavesdropping, and protecting diplomatic facilities and personnel from technical threats globally, ensuring secure communications and facilities for U.S. diplomacy. The Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of security and monitoring technology solutions in support of a federal agency's mission-critical operations. This individual must possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in system engineering, cybersecurity, and software/hardware integration, with expertise in secure system design, network security, and monitoring technologies. The candidate must have a strong foundation in secure system architecture, vulnerability management, and compliance with federal security standards. Additionally, proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, C/C++, PowerShell, or Bash, along with experience in database management (PostgreSQL,MySQL, or SQL Server), is required. This position demands strong technical problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with cross functional teams in a high-security environment. Travel Requirements: 10-25% CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required for program coordination. Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/TS-SCI security clearance are mandatory for this role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or 5+ years of additional related experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in system engineering, cybersecurity, and system integration.
  • Proficiency in system design, network security, and security monitoring solutions.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, C/C++, PowerShell, C#, or VB.
  • Experience with database technologies: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
  • Hands-on experience with system hardening, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Knowledge of secure software and system lifecycle management.
  • Experience assisting in hardware and firmware integration for secure system deployment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work in fast-paced, high-security environments.
  • Experience supporting custom hardware integration for security applications.
  • Cybersecurity Certification: Security+, CEH, or GSEC.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer Aided Design experience and/or 3D printing experience.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and operating U.S. Department of State Special Countermeasures Systems.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and integrating Department of State IDS and ACS solutions.
