To learn more about internship program visit: https://www.panasonic.aero/internships Project Scope: The Aircraft Integration Engineering team is responsible for installing Panasonic In-Flight Entertainment systems into airline customer aircraft they are currently flying (retrofit). The intern will work closely with the engineering team by performing modeling and drawing updates under the close supervision of senior engineers. They will be introduced to basic FAA and aircraft retrofit requirements, aircraft manual usage, part conformity and quality process gates. Airbus/Boeing aircraft overview and 3D modeling approaches, Airbus/Boeing design philosophies, Siemens NX modeling/drawing & Teamcenter training, PAC Change process & Agile training, may include additional CAD modeling and PLM tools. The intern will be put into the actual workflow of on-going customer programs. They could even be thrown into rapid engineering development to support engineers in the field (non-travel) or in support of AOG (Aircraft on Ground) changes. What will you gain: The intern will gain an understanding of what it takes to retrofit commercial aircraft and some exposure to the rules and regulation that govern this activity. They will gain high level understanding parametric modeling, how drawings are created from the models, and how these designs get Panasonic systems installed into the aircraft. They will learn how Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) and change management programs help the engineer and Panasonic control our designs and help us meet our quality and on-time delivery goals. They will also learn how we operate in a team environment; how junior engineers work with senior engineers to ensure we meet all our design requirements. The intern will be exposed to all program meetings, design milestones, and customer meetings to get a more complete picture of what Mechanical Engineers do as part of our team. The hourly wage range for this position is $25- $43. The final offer amount may vary and is based on the candidates' year in school. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
