About The Position

Peraton is seeking an experienced systems Hardware Engineer to join our national intelligence program in Northern Virginia that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client’s global missions.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to obtain a Poly clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience or PhD with 3 years relevant experience or 12 years relevant experience with high school diploma).
  • Proven work experience as hardware engineer performing design, testing and server/ compute platform analysis.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and its components.
  • Proficiency in hardware engineering tools.
  • Proficiency in documenting requirements and specifications.
  • Certifications: IAT II, Security +

Nice To Haves

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly Clearance.
  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • Prior experience and or historical and institutional knowledge of the customer mission and programs and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, maintain and improve the clients’ server/compute platforms.
  • Perform end-to-end network systems engineering, working with vendors.
  • Identify and maintain requirements to achieve mission needs, performing higher level network design and create Power Space and Cooling (PSC), Bill of Material (BOM), Baseline Exception Requirements (BER) and other documents required to procure equipment.
  • Create and design complex network core cabling integration and infrastructure cabling between racks, provide new configurations and changes to drafter and ensure all cabling drawing packages are 100% accurate.
  • Lead integration efforts of Cisco, HP, Dell, IBM, and many other vendors of equipment as required.
  • Perform quality assurance on all systems procurement to make sure they pass build standards.
  • Establish a process to formally and pro-actively control and manage changes to requirements, consider impacts prior to commitment to change, gain stakeholder buy-in, eliminate ambiguity, ensure traceability to source requirements, and track and settle open actions.
  • Manage and ensure the technical integrity of the system baseline over time, continually update it as various changes are imposed on the system during the life-cycle from development through deployment and operations & maintenance.
  • Develop scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, that satisfies operational, support, maintenance, and disposal needs.
  • Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces.
  • Provide technical planning, system, integration, verification, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Research new technologies and get technical specifications.
  • Keep up to date End of Sale, End of Support, and End of Life on various components.
  • Provide and receive technical specifications to/from vendors that we go through.
  • Receive and review quotes from vendors and resellers.
  • Create rack elevations, floor placement and build documents for vendors.
  • Review drawing packages and provide red-lines to team members.
  • Update build cable run lists documents and upload for team usage.
  • Create and provide Cable BOM’s for manufactures and vendors, review quotes for accuracy.
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, and user guidelines/ instructions documentation.
