About The Position

As a Systems Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of complex systems that drive innovation and efficiency in the aerospace industry. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of quality and performance, ultimately enhancing the safety and reliability of air travel. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule. The Honeywell Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) reduces the risk of controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) by providing flight crews with timely, accurate information about terrain and obstacles in the area. The system uses various aircraft inputs and an internal database to predict and warn flight crews of potential conflicts with obstacles or terrain. Additional features include SmartRunway and SmartLanding systems, developed to help flight crews avoid potential runway incursions and excursions As an Systems Engineer for the Multi-Platform EGPWS Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) Systems Core Development program within Honeywell’s Aero business, you will contribute to the team as a Systems Engineer and grow and expand your skills on exciting new projects. You will contribute to proposals to address future business opportunities, provide your ideas for problem solving and be part of a product and team that has a positive impact on aviation safety. This position supports long term development programs and breakthrough innovations that are penetrating into all aerospace fields including the burgeoning UAM/UAS markets and Next Gen ATR-BGA-UAM/UAS EGPWS products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of aerospace experience in systems engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge in systems integration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in systems modeling tools and programming languages relevant to aerospace applications.

  • Aircraft Systems knowledge or piloting background
  • Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System(EGPWS) or TAWS experience
  • Aviation Safety experience or knowledge
  • FAA Regulations and industry standards knowledge
  • ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254, DO-160 knowledge
  • Agile development process knowledge and experience
  • TSO, STC and Aircraft Type Certification knowledge and experience
  • Interest and commitment to aviation safety
  • Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle
  • Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts.
  • Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
