Galaxia Technologies Inc. is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert (Sr. SME) - Systems Engineering to lead the design, development, and integration of complex systems that support mission-critical operations. As a Sr. SME, you will provide technical leadership, establish best practices, and drive innovation in systems engineering methodologies. This role requires a deep understanding of system lifecycle management, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-impact solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and 20+ years of experience in systems engineering; or Master’s Degree and 18+ years of experience.
  • Extensive experience leading systems engineering efforts for large-scale, mission-critical projects.
  • Expertise in requirements management, system design, integration, and lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of risk assessment, trade studies, and performance analysis techniques.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills for addressing complex system challenges.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a CI polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP).
  • Experience with government or defense-related projects, including compliance frameworks like DoD RMF.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML integration into system architectures.
  • Knowledge of advanced simulation and modeling tools.
  • Recognized thought leadership in systems engineering through publications, patents, or speaking engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and integration of complex, large-scale systems across multiple domains.
  • Define and implement systems engineering processes, frameworks, and standards to ensure efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership on system architecture, requirements development, and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system requirements and translate them into actionable designs.
  • Oversee system testing, verification, and validation processes to ensure compliance with mission objectives.
  • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and performance analyses to optimize system designs.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, methodologies, and tools to enhance systems engineering practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and stakeholders, providing expert insights and recommendations.
  • Document system architectures, processes, and best practices to support organizational knowledge sharing.
