About The Position

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is dedicated to advancing and optimizing the laboratory to move science and healthcare forward. The Summer Internship Program is a 12-week paid internship that provides functional learning through robust project work, engagement with executive and senior leadership, and exposure to Danaher Business System fundamentals. Interns will report to the systems engineering manager and will be part of the systems engineering team responsible for cost reduction of diagnostic analyzers. The role involves developing hardware solutions, troubleshooting issues, collaborating on design optimization, and producing documentation for regulated medical devices.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or other relevant engineering degree.
  • Experience with hands-on lab testing and lab report generation.
  • Preference will be given to students that have completed at least three years of study.

Responsibilities

  • Participate on a team of systems, electrical and mechanical engineers.
  • Work cross-functionally to generate concepts and optimize solutions.
  • Troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate on requirements, design optimization, and root cause failures.
  • Develop and execute a test strategy for design solutions.
  • Use statistical tools to analyze results and provide insights.
  • Produce documentation required for a regulated medical device.
