About The Position

SetPoint Medical’s Systems Engineering interns support a range of projects that strengthen both sustaining engineering and new product development. Responsibilities include assisting with design verification and validation (experiment planning, execution, and documentation), analyzing and troubleshooting system issues, supporting nonconformance and failure investigations, and developing tools and scripts for automated testing. This paid internship provides valuable experience while supporting SetPoint define a new therapeutic category of neuroimmune modulation. With guidance from the Engineering team, the intern will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively, leveraging available resources to make well-informed decisions and contribute to the successful completion of projects. This fun, fast-paced environment will challenge your abilities in your respective field while offering exciting career development and team bonding activities throughout the summer. This full-time internship is in office, Monday - Friday, reporting to company headquarters in Valencia, CA. Internship dates are flexible based on your school calendar.

Requirements

  • Experience with electronic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters) is a plus
  • Experience with a scripting language (Python, MATLAB, etc.) is a plus
  • Specific courses in systems engineering and/or medical devices are a plus
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Critical thinking, organizational and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or above in BME, ECE, MechE, etc.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or above
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively with and relate to all levels within the organization
  • Team skills that demonstrate inclusivity, decisiveness, good facilitation, a process improvement orientation, and approachability
