About The Position

At Collins Aerospace we are redefining aerospace! We are seeking applicants for the Collins scholar program. This program is a collaboration between the University of Michigan and Collins Aerospace and centers around the application of next generation Systems Engineering methods including Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Selected applicants will work with Collins Aerospace engineers during the academic year and complete an on-site internship at one of Collins sites in the US. The Collins scholar Intern will join a team at our Cedar Rapids, IA, site to work within the Applied Research and Technology organization.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Experience using the MathWorks toolset (Simulink/Stateflow/Simscape)
  • Python programming experience
  • Familiarity with aerospace system development approaches
  • Familiarity with Formal Methods
