About The Position

The position involves performing day-to-day activities related to the support, research, analysis, and implementation of Windows Server, VMware, cloud technologies, data backup/recovery systems, IT security best practices, fundamental networking, and some Linux. Responsibilities include system architecture, OS upgrades, patch management, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring. The role also requires providing technical support for on-premises, cloud, and virtual server environments, creating system documentation and standard operating procedures, and collaborating with cross-division teams and federal management on daily operations and project work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 1 additional year of relevant professional experience - preferred
  • Associate degree plus 3 additional years of relevant experience - required
  • Team player with a positive attitude and great communication skills; Ability to complete work independently and, at times, with minimal supervision
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, VMware, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), Powershell scripting, data protection, IT security best practices, fundamental networking, and Linux
  • Real-world experience managing Active Directory, group policy objects, DNS, DHCP
  • Experience with patch management tools, such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Familiarity with federal government security standards (FISMA, NIST, DISA STIG, CIS, CISA), IT security best practices, threat protection, and scanning tools
  • Experience with standard server networking protocols, storage and data management
  • Understanding of change control processes and service desk ticketing systems
