About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA to design and maintain system architectures, program requirements, interface specifications, and system testing as an integrated part of our agile teams and contribute across the entire product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience for level 3, 5+ for level 4, 10+ for level 5.
  • Systems Engineering experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Nice To Haves

  • Model based Engineering (MBSE) experience.
  • Experience with Requirements Management systems such as DOORS.
  • 3+ years of experience with requirements verification.
  • Experience generating content for and presenting at design reviews (e.g., PDR or CDR).

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead requirements management, development, analyses, decomposition, allocation, testing, validation, and verification.
  • Support and lead systems architecture, model based systems engineering (MBSE), and CONOPS development.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and technology experts in understanding technology development and integration into current state and future goals for increased functionality, performance, testability, verification, and validation.
  • Support and lead the definition of functional architecture and modeling needs and coordinate efforts across teams to meet deliverables and program milestones.
  • Interface with customers and program management and leadership for systems engineering and integration and test team.
  • Participate in all aspects of systems engineering for current and future phases of program with design, qualification, and eventually production.
  • Follow and implement best practices throughout all facets of systems engineering, integration, and test.
  • Actively participate in mentoring program for systems engineers to instill cross functional skills in systems engineering, integration, and test, in junior engineers.
