The Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking a Systems Engineer. This Systems Engineering (SE) opportunity on the U.S. Navy’s Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) will allow participation on a high-visibility DoD program that provides engineering support to the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), the largest information technology (IT) network in the world. This position will provide many opportunities to challenge and grow your skills as a Systems Engineer. A successful candidate will use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, the System Modeling Language (SysML), and the Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Methodology, tailored for the SMIT Project to build the Naval Enterprise Network (NEN) model. This modeling will achieve the goal of creating, maintaining, updating, modernizing, and refreshing the capabilities and components of NMCI. This position is a member of a small, well-connected, and dynamic team that is responsible for providing the core competency for MBSE, SysML, MBSE processes, CATIA Magic Systems Modeler also referred to as Cameo Systems Modeler (CSM) and other MBSE Tool Suites across the entire SMIT program. This candidate is expected to be hands-on within the model and MBSE tools. The candidate will utilize an agile MBSE approach that provides rigor, repeatability, and flexibility to support the needs of stakeholders, including our customer and the SMIT team. This position will apply MBSE methods to create and manage the NEN System Model, using SysML and aligned with the NAVWAR EA Profile, enabling support of all SE use cases across the systems engineering lifecycle to realize the full projected value of MBSE. The effective candidate will create, mature and maintain Service-level and System-level Requirements within CSM by following a structured process. This includes using the CSM tool to create all relevant Derived, Refined, Verified, and Satisfied relationships to the other elements within the NEN model. The Candidate will use CSM to build abstract, logical High-Level Design (HLD) architecture of the System as well as implementation-specific, physical, detailed Low-Level Design architecture of the Solution. The candidate will also use CSM to develop and execute Test Plans, Procedures, and Results. A successful Candidate will need to engage and collaborate directly with Leidos Domain Architects and other Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) regularly to ensure that the NEN model is accurate.
