RTX is a provider of SkillBridge Fellowship opportunities for transitioning service members to gain an in-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense business from some of the most respected leaders and engineers in the industry. SkillBridge fellows will not be eligible for any compensation during their fellowship, as they will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. Upon successful completion of this fellowship, you will be well prepared and encouraged to apply for open positions listed on our careers page. To be eligible for a SkillBridge, you must meet the following requirements: Must be on Active-Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces Must be eligible to participate per DoD Instruction 1322.29. Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date. Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in problem-solving to identify potential issues, conduct thorough analysis, and drive resolution with minimal direction.
  • Experience with customers and functional organizations.
  • Experience with specific program domain knowledge
  • Experience with signals analysis, including processing, interpreting, and analyzing complex data sets (e.g., RF, sensor, waveform, or time-series data)
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with presentation and briefing.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages, including UNIX/Linux environments, MATLAB, Perl, C++, Java, JavaScript, and Python.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze mission system performance data to provide operational insight, enabling informed prioritization of activities and mission support efforts.
  • Coordinate operational rhythm and execution across multiple technical workstreams to maintain alignment with program objectives and mission priorities.
  • Support prioritization of work and resource allocation based on operational demand, mission impact, and evolving customer needs.
  • Collaborate across engineering, program, and mission teams to ensure effective cross-functional coordination and timely resolution of complex system performance challenges.
  • Develop and maintain visibility into operational metrics, throughput, and performance indicators to support leadership awareness and data-driven decision making.
  • Provide clear operational briefings and status updates to customers and senior leadership regarding mission activities, performance trends, and operational risks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, operational processes, and coordination mechanisms to increase efficiency and mission effectiveness.
  • Manage operational tempo by tracking activities, dependencies, and priorities across teams to ensure consistent execution and delivery of mission outcomes.
