About The Position

Sigma Defense is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team. The Centralized Network Operations Center (C-NOC) Systems Engineer will support the Air Force in the operation and maintenance of the MQ-9 communications system, global network architectures to include the Aircraft Control Network (ACN), Sensor Product Dissemination Network (SPDN), Squadron Operations Centers (SOCs) ancillary systems, and relay site communication. The C-NOC will support all MQ-9 stakeholders including ACC, ANG, AFSOC, SOCOM, USMC, ADC, and other external agencies. The hired Systems Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting Windows and Linux based architecture and resolving escalated troubleshooting incidents. They will act as the final point of escalation for the C-NOC, performing root cause analysis, system planning, and ensuring high system availability.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of system engineering experience with a focus on Windows Server administration.
  • Security+ and Windows Server Hybrid Admin Associate with active directory
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues, provide step-by-step instructions, and document tickets/fix actions/summaries clearly.
  • Remains calm to de-escalate difficult situations while working effectively with team members to resolve issues.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and install equipment weighing about 30lbs, heavier equipment as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of virtual technologies Hyper-V, VMware, and to a lesser extent, Red Hat Linux.
  • Able to stand up a Windows Enterprise environment with support applications like SolarWinds, ISE, file share, etc.
  • Proven knowledge with basic scripting using PowerShell.
  • Experience creating design documentation and diagrams to support system design.
  • Experience in creating system configurations for purchasing.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active TS/SCI security clearance or higher.

Nice To Haves

  • Windows Server Active Directory certification, Virtual machine, Linux, and containers experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for escalated troubleshooting support to the C-NOC.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain multiple closed Windows domain systems that provide AD, DNS, CA, DC, SQL, and File share services housed on virtual servers.
  • Create and manage a patching system such as WSUS for remote patch management.
  • Assist with account creation and management.
  • Monitor and suggest improvements to system support suite performance, availability, capacity, scalability, and security.
  • Implement and manage system licensing.
  • Provide situation reports, status updates, and assistance with any system upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the development of processes and procedures for optimization and sustainment of C2R communications.
  • Run systemwide security, compliance, and vulnerability scans and mitigate findings.
