About The Position

Intrepid Solutions, a CIS company, is looking for a Systems Engineer to support a new contract that is anticipated to begin in September, 2025. This contract is providing research, analysis, and modernization support services to a DoD customer. This role will be incorporated into the systems engineering, compliance and information assurance, support areas. We expect that the Systems Engineer would be able to handle the below responsibilities and exceed the minimum qualifications listed.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance required at the time of application for initial consideration. This position is not open to clearance sponsorship, upgrade, or reactivation.
  • Bachelor’s degree, desired.
  • DoD 8140 Certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CASP+, Network+).
  • 5 years of progressive experience related to the responsibilities listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Systems Engineering for Architecture and Platform Integration: Perform requirements analysis, architecture definition, interoperability assessments, and mission equipment integration in support of Cross-Functional Team (CFT) system development efforts.
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Methodologies: Utilize SysML, UAF, and other MBSE tools to represent system interfaces, subsystem interactions, design constraints, and traceability across system views to support robust architecture modeling.
  • Ensure Information Assurance and Security Compliance Integration: Incorporate cybersecurity requirements and standards into systems architecture, ensuring all designs align with DoD Information Assurance (IA) policies, risk management frameworks (RMF), and compliance mandates.
  • Support Development of Interoperable and Modular System Architectures: Develop architecture models that promote open standards, agnostic design, and upgradeability to support long-term system scalability and sustainability.
  • Collaborate in Agile Environments Using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe): Engage as a key technical advisor to Product Owners and Agile Scrum Teams, reviewing backlogs, sprint plans, and release strategies to align cybersecurity, compliance, and engineering objectives.
  • Perform Data Integration and Systems Analysis for Continuous Improvement: Analyze technical documentation, operational data, and system models to identify integration gaps, improve product outcomes, and ensure traceability between engineering outputs and stakeholder requirements.
  • Support Security Engineering Reviews and Technical Risk Assessments: Participate in system and architecture reviews, assessing design choices for compliance with DoD cybersecurity guidelines and evaluating risks related to integration, scalability, and mission assurance.
