About The Position

The Systems Engineer supports partner dataflows by analyzing system requirements and translating them into actionable insights. This role works closely with stakeholders to understand needs, derive functional requirements, and ensure system effectiveness. The engineer troubleshoots existing dataflows, maps new dataflow requirements, and helps maintain the integrity and efficiency of partner integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a systems engineering role
  • Basic understanding of corporate dataflow and the organizations involved
  • Familiarity with corporate dataflow tools (i.e. PICTUREPOSTCARD, DX, DARKGATEWAY, SPLINTER, Kibana, DATARUNNER)
  • Familiarity with NiFi or other integration tools
  • An active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • ITAR Requirement: This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on AeroVironment’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with AeroVironment’s business requirements. A “U.S. person” according to the ITAR definition is a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or protected individual such as a refugee or asylee. See 22 CFR § 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux
  • Diversified background across many disciplines (e.g. collection, analysis, basic database experience, comfortable interpreting existing queries and developing new ones.)
  • Scripting experience with Perl and Bash.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze system requirements to understand stakeholder needs and infer functional capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within existing partner dataflows.
  • Design, document, and map new dataflow requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure system functions align with operational goals.
  • Support ongoing monitoring and maintenance of dataflow effectiveness.
