CACI is looking for Systems Engineer who will provide analysis support to the Combat Systems Safety (CSS) work area under the Computer Program Engineering Services (CPES) contract for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). You will be integral in finding issues surrounding our ships and missions to help keep our fleet safe and ensure successful outcome.

  • Evaluate Combat System Element (CSE) Change Requests (CRs) for safety critical and safety related defects
  • Perform initial CSS assessments for AEGIS Combat System (ACS) and AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) CRs
  • Translate requirements and interpret/identify the safety issue
  • Assign Causal Factor (CF), Hazard, and Mishap during initial CSS assessment of ACS and AWS CRs
  • Provide CSS Subject Matter Expert (SME) support during Change Review Board (CRB), Fleet Change Review Board (FCRB), Software Configuration Control Board (SCCB), and Fleet Advisory Board (FAB) meetings as required to adjudicate safety related CRs
  • Collaborate with ACS and AWS software engineers during initial CSS assessment of CRs
  • Generate CSS Operational Impact Assessment slides for approved safety issues that could result in Top Level Mishaps (TLMs)
  • Perform initial CSS assessments for CRs scheduled for evaluation during AEGIS Safety Adjudication Meetings (ASAMs)
  • Evaluate CSE CRs for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) baselines and generate Operational Impact Assessment slides for approved safety issues
  • Evaluate Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) Trouble Reports (TRs) for CSS
  • BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated skill with Windows Operating System (OS), Microsoft (MS) Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Edge/Internet Explorer)
  • Experience translating requirements into actionable items
  • Willing to work onsite in King George, VA
  • Willing and able to attain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Current Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of AEGIS Combat Systems (ACS) and/or AEGIS Weapon Systems (AWS)
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and with team members
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues
