About The Position

Seneca Holdings is seeking a Systems Engineer in Williamsville, NY. The Systems Engineer will use professional technology engineering skills and experience to maintain and enhance all network infrastructure, SaaS configuration and integration, application management, end user devices and general tier 2/3 end user support for Seneca Holdings and its business subsidiaries. This position supports the planning and implementation of system design, architecture, provisioning, and maintenance that is consistent with the company workflows and processes, while following industry best practices and meeting compliance and security objectives. The Systems Engineer is responsible for researching, testing, configuring, installing, troubleshooting, operating and repairing systems and company infrastructure solutions. The ideal individual for this role will need to demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal), as well as a passion for superior customer service we are known for. The Systems Engineer must be a team player, yet work constructively and independently as directed. The Systems Engineer is a consummate IT professional, detail oriented and self-motivated individual who excels at both successfully and efficiently solving end-user, departmental and Companywide IT problems as well as developing, implementing, and supporting business systems solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of technical experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Microsoft Windows technical support
  • Office 365 administration and troubleshooting experience including system implementation, management and documentation
  • Software as a Service) SaaS integration experience (e,g, design, testing and implementing APIs)
  • Corporate Microsoft SharePoint design, implementation and administration
  • Network infrastructure administration of routers, firewalls, access points and switches and the like
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on support services in a help desk/service desk environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary technical engineering contact and architect for managing Seneca Holdings enterprise SaaS (Software as a Service)
  • Provide technical oversight, verification and validation, supportability and effectiveness analysis for Microsoft systems and for projects impacting Microsoft Systems (to include but not limited to the Office 365 Cloud suite and SharePoint) and supporting infrastructure
  • Design, testing and implementation and operations of Enterprise Applications, Single Sign On (SSO) solutions, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), etc.
  • Design, test, configure, and install new systems and network equipment
  • Identify and resolve SaaS connectivity, network and related integration system performance problems
  • Maintain and update system documentation and diagrams
  • Overseeing system vulnerability security management program
  • Troubleshoot and solve SaaS, workstation and network related access problems
  • Interface with external vendors, suppliers, consultants as necessary
  • Participates in Disaster Recovery testing, planning and execution of the plans as needed.
  • Participates in Security incident handling.
  • Communicates reported or discovered issue trends, major security events and Information Security incidents with appropriate management staff, as soon as identified.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for configuration, installation and support of technologies widely adopted across company
  • Provide technical training sessions, ‘lessons learned’ for IT staff
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
  • Consistently prepare for and provide documented support for various audits throughout the year
  • Identifying and leading positive change to evolve business processes
  • Keep abreast of latest technology and industry trends, recommend equipment and system enhancements, upgrades and/or replacements as necessary to meet the IT needs of the Seneca Holdings and its subsidiaries
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Seneca policies and procedures
